In Reiki traditions, this symbol is used for increasing the power of Reiki that emanate from hands. It is the most frequently used Reiki symbol and its general meaning of Cho ku Rei is “put the power here”.
This is the symbol used to connect with the energy at the beginning of a session, and to increase energy where needed during a session.As the Cleansing Symbol it can be used to remove negative or stagnating energy during a Reiki healing session. It is drawn on the walls of a room to cleanse the room of negative energies.
Traditionally, the Cho Ku Rei is drawn counterclockwise, but sometimes is drawn opposite with the spiral clockwise; this is a matter of preference and it works with either way of drawing.
